Age & Consent Policy

This policy explains how age and consent are approached in relation to the sale of body jewellery and any piercing services offered by BePierced™️. It reflects our commitment to customer safety, safeguarding, and responsible practice.
1. Jewellery Sales
We sell body jewellery to customers of various ages. We reserve the right to request proof of age or refuse a sale where safety or safeguarding concerns arise.
2. Piercing Services (Where Offered)
Where piercing services are provided, age and consent requirements may apply (see below age policy) depending on the type of piercing and circumstances. We reserve the right to refuse any service where valid consent cannot be established.
3. Consent for Minors
Parental or guardian consent may be required for customers under 18. Consent may be accepted in person or, in limited circumstances, remotely, where it can be verified to our satisfaction.
4. Health & Safety
We may refuse a sale or service where health, hygiene, or safeguarding concerns arise.
5. Data Protection
Any personal data collected is processed in line with GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 to enable us to perform any contract with you.
6. Policy Updates
This policy may be updated from time to time.
Minimum Ages for Piercings
We at Be Pierced™️ take safety, safeguarding and consent very seriously. We have minimum ages for all of our piercings, and all under 16’s must have parental consent for the piercing they desire.
We reserve the right to refuse a piercing when we think that it is not safe, ethical or appropriate and we are not obligated to explain our reasons. We do not pierce anyone who does not want to Be Pierced™️, regardless of parental wishes and we will not pierce any person under 16 without appropriate parental consent, which in the majority of cases will require the customer being accompanied by their parent or guardian for the procedure. If you have any queries and wish to discuss this policy in more detail, please contact us directly before making an appointment.
We may choose to be flexible on age in some circumstances, depending on the maturity of the customer, their understanding of the procedure and whether they are more likely to manage the discomfort than others of their age. If you want to discuss this, please reach out to us. We will not guarantee we will pierce before we have met and spoken with both parent and customer and assessed the situation fully, likewise, we may decide that a customer is unlikely to manage the desired piercing, despite meeting our required age and refuse to proceed.
Please note: if you have the privilege of looking younger than you are, please ensure you bring appropriate ID with you to your appointment. Our team reserve the right to refuse services if they believe you are under 16/18 and you are unable to prove otherwise.
